In the Ford Model A world there is a guy in Northern California that has some wheels that were on a rolling Model A chassis. They look like Jeep wheels. The inter hub diameter is 3.5 inches.

I wouldn't try boring those centers. You would sacrifice the hub shoulder & the center diameter would be way to close to the lug bores . They would end up too weak .
The other thing to consider would be the width? A Model 'A' was pretty narrow , I Reckon ?
    Not worth it , IMHO.

Many years back in another life time we would trim the centers out of the wheels from a Ford pu. 5 lug and run them on our jeep. We did it with a cutting torch very carefully. The lug bolt pattern was the same on ford model A thru to the early 80's. We never had any problem with them breaking or anything, but we used them off road only.
Just thinking, a model A Spoke wheel would fit a jeep if the center was trimmed out a little, that would be cool! (y).

Those are 16" F100 wheels with the "innie" hubcap nubs. May have some value to an old Ford truck restorer.
Actually the 5 on 5.5" pattern lasted till '96 on F150 & Bronco, and even later for E series vans. Unfortunately, every OEM Ford wheel I've ever seen uses the small center hole like the wheel pictured above, and won't fit the front of a Jeep. Aftermarket wheels normally have the large center hole so they'll fit both Jeep and Ford (and Dodge and IH and Suzuki and everything else that uses this bolt pattern).

I was guessing when the bolt pattern changed. I did have a 1979 F-150 4x4 truck. it had a set of Armstrong tires on white wagon wheels with the big center hole when I bought it. I swaped the full set directly to my 74 CJ-5. The lug pattern was the same, a 5.5 . As far as I know the F-150 was still factory lug pattern..

As I said you can get the centers cut & run them successfully for years but they don't stand up to major impacts.
