Xj Pedal Template For A 2a/3a

Wondering if anyone has used this template to have a fabricator, with a CNC machine, make up a firewall plate for installing XJ pedals in a 2A/3A.

That would have been a handy bit of information when I was doing my xj brake set up on my 6.

 

This is great, thanks for posting. I've mocked up xj pedals, and they seem to fit great in the cj5. This template will really nail things down though

 

I use a cordless saws-all and grinder and cut the firewall and doubler out about the same size.

 

I used the template today to mock up a reinforcement plate for my cj5, and I have a question for the experts. The hole for the brake master cylinder is listed as " 0/ 1.500 THRU". Does this mean that the hole should be a radius of 1.5", or a diameter (3")? Looking at my 80's xj master cylinder, it sure looks like it should be closer to 2.5-3". I don't have a clutch master cylinder currently, but I recall that one being a smaller diameter.

 

The slashed circle is a diameter symbol. Looks like all of the holes are marked as diameter.

 

just note....I do not know IF this works/accurate which is why I posted if anyone has used it. I could not find the total width or height of the plate. Also, its for a 2a. 3a . let us know if it works!

 

In that case, I don't think this template is accurate for ALL XJ swinging pedal setups. My set is iirc from a late 80's one, with a vacuum booster (do they all have a booster?). I didn't dig out my calipers, but the boot around the booster is at least 2.5", and a 3" hole makes for nice breathing room. The bolt holes seem to line up just fine.

There's also a support bolt that I think would line up somewhere around below the clutch master, but I haven't mocked that up yet to be sure.
