My ‘58 F134 has the timing indicator bent back like this. Is this normal? upload_2023-9-25_19-7-20.jpeg

I’ve gotta to check timing after getting the altitude rod installed. Going to first do scoutpilot vacuum method first but then want to see where it ends up.

I start with the timing marks, then dial it in by EAR. The timing marks are not exact , just close. When it starts right and rives right it is right. Both of my F 134's fire right up and run right after warmed up. The one thing that screws things up is the oil pump timing, if the oil pump is not timed right the timing isn't right either. Good luck.

That's the one thing that will get a lot of people....180 degrees off. It definitely got me once.
