Random Nut

    I pulled Ted out today and found this sitting underneath. It’s a fine thread 3/8” nut. I can’t picture where it goes. Any ideas?

    Ross steering bellcrank clamp bolt? Transmission crossmember to frame bolts,
    A lot of frame stuff, Ross steering box, single bore master cylinder mounting bolts.
    Clutch and brake pivot, pedal clamps.
    Bellhousing bolts...

    Whatever it is I don't think it was torqued to spec :bananatool:

    All seriousness aside, you do need to find out what it fell off of, lest you find out the hard way.

    It painted the same color as the frame, so it must have came from there. I would have thought the shape would make it unique and easy to identify.

    It's an early self locking nut.
    Shackle bolts, torque struts, body bolts, I may be missing a couple here..........................

    I think the driveshaft bolts have such a nut? :shrug:

    so I think we've narrowed it down to a bolt on the jeep - that's where i'd start. :lol:
