Kind of like this project....maybe a bit more project than it initially looks....but as you all know I am always on the lookout for longer wheelbase wheeling rig. Don't love the rear overhand of the c101, but if you get it up high enough on SOA and 35s with good rear end protection, might not matter. I've only driven a couple of these (back before I bought the 70cj5, I was actually looking for a c101), and seem to recall the driver seating position is a bit awkward for wheeling (sits low with poor vis for a small short person like me). Probably still prefer a cj6/8 project, but saw a bit of value and potential here.

yea - that is the extra tempting part....I assume they are NT FSJ....either use them for the 58, or keep them around for when the OEM D27/44 blow up...there is a NT CJ D30 (has drums, so I assume it has to the NT) that is sorta nearby this....of course, its not particularly close - almost 400 miles away

the other lwb I've been digitally revisiting is this intermediate CJ6....I like the advantages of the OEM pieces (D30/flanged44, amcV8, saggy steering...Be sweet if it has 4.27 gears....mostly likely would need improved crawl with low gears for the D20 and/or granny 4 speed. I have a jeep 4:1 T18 for a 258 - not sure if the v8/T15 bell used the same jeep hole pattern or not (the more I try to understand the NR T18 I have, the more confused I get as to what it actually is). With 4:1, 3.15 low gears and 4.27 gears, CR would only be 54 - but that might ok (better than what I got now!). Its pricey and a bit rough - been waiting to see if the price drops a bit...

Wow, a Jeepster AND new axles for your Wagon? What are you waiting for James?

That '6 is pretty cool but the Jeepster is, IMHO, way sweeter!

The ergonomics of the Commando aren't great, but the biggest problem I have is that, at 6ft tall, my kneeis into the turn signal stalk when shifting gears. Visibility over the hood isn't great, but I think that's more a result of the full width hood vs the narrow CJ hood. Many Commandos get converted the CJ hoods & I'll probably do that to mine too.
Edit- I just noticed that Commando has what appears to be a full set of Scout II Raylly wheels, I bet you could get $$$ for those!
