    Hello:

    65 Cj5 Stock steering.
My left turn turning radius seems to be much larger than the right turn radius.
Measured tire to leaf spring at full lock and left turn turns 1.75" less than right at full lock.
Would this be a steering bellcrank adjustment or a Ross box adjustment to adjust center point?

Taking it in for a Alignment soon but want to figure out turn radius first.
My service manuals are 1700 miles away back in Indiana.

    Many thanks in advance!

You might first check the bump-stopping screws on your steering knuckles to see if one of em is sticking out more than the other. Otherwise your pitman arm might be clocked incorrectly on the sector shaft spline.

Does it have the stock motor or something else?
With the v6 swaps you need to bend the drag link and clock the pitman arm so it doesn't hit the bellhousing. You also want to check steering dampeners.

    Thanks for the reply!
V6 swap with a bent drag link.
    No steering dampener hang up.
So i should drop the pitman/drag link and spin it to correct and center the steering and leave the Ross box alone?

Yes, I would disconnect the pitman, center the steering box (counting turns), then center the tires to straight forward. Then hopefully the pitman will go back on to the box in a vertical orientation. Hopefully you have the correct drag link to take up the distance. I would also just put the pitman on loosely until you are sure about the left and right limits being equal.

I believe the 65 had a v6 in it at one time because of of v6 motor mount weld point remnants and the smaller front drive with a bent not straight drag link.
    I will measure it.
I have not seen a definitive correct length for a Dauntless drag link and how it differs in shape from the 4 banger style.

I can measure a stock V6 one if needed. And I thought they both had a bend in them...
