I just don't drive it at all. Maybe someone can take it to the next level. There is rust on both sides by the windshield brace. The floor under the tool box is rusty. The rest is very good. Completely rewired. Engine was fully rebuilt about ten or so years ago. The PO did it right. Rear main leaks, probably because the PO became ill and did not drive it. And I have continued that tradition. I bought it because the engine was so good and so much had been reworked. Steering box needs to be rebuilt. New rear axle seals.

1960 Willys Jeep CJ5 F134 4 cylinder 3 speed manual Good seats Typical rust under tool box New wiring throughout 12v alternator Engine has about 1500 miles since a complete rebuild about 10 years ago - rear main seal leaks New tires New brakes Steering all new except for steering box Runs and drives great 4WD works as designed Very cold natured Must see to appreciate. I have taken this project as far as I want to. Titled and registered in my name.

I still have a 50 Jeepster to put together. I just like to make these things start, run, and stop. I especially like to rewire them from scratch.
And once that’s done I grin a little and then I’m ready to move on to the next one.

Some of the first ones I’ve had only needed some wiring repair and upgrades. The I got to the M38, the M151, and this 60 CJ5 and total rewire was needed. There’s a real sense of satisfaction once that’s done. New switches, signals, OE style lights, relays on the headlights, loom on the wires, new battery cables, and so on. Fun to see it work. Then let the grand kids learn to use the clutch. I barely go off road but certainly like it.
I guess that was too much old man stories.
