I have my saginaw manual steering gear box mounted. I flipping my tie rod ends. Do I have to drill out the steering knuckle so the tie rod ends will bolt up.

If you are doing a tie rod flip then one way or another you have to get the wide part of the tapered hole on top of the knuckle. The most common way I know of is using an insert of some type.

I don't know if this is the type you need or not it is just for example.

I know guys have used the Goferit inserts in the past, but I can't seem to find them. Anyone know if the Goferit ones are still available?

I have done both types, weld insert and the tapered bushing. I prefer the bushing. This is the one where you taper ream from the top and then use the provided tapered bushing to take up the room/double wedge the tie rod in place from the bottom. no play.

TMR customs still sells the inserts. Very easy install, you drill out the stock tapered holes to 3/4" then weld the insert flange to the knuckle. Then grind the other side flush.
