Tried searching the forum and cannot find anything. I am looking for axle assembling specs for above. Need pinion depth, pinion preload, pinion nut torque, ring gear mount bolt torque, backlash, carrier preload, carrier caps bolt torque, need for both a 1960's front D27 and a 1960's rear D44. Also axle end play for rear D44 tapered shaft axle. Anyone? Or any source for it?

    TIA

Disaasembled rear axle. Using same ring and pinion in that one with different carrier. I measured backlash befor disassembly and set back to same. Used specs from a chevy manual, to get a ball park figure, on smaller axle for ring gear torque, bearing cap torque. But sure would be nice to have exact info. Anyone got a FSM?

Thanks for the tip on FSMs, but I really do not want to buy one because I am not planning on using the axles very long. Just using them as a test for wider width and gear/posi test to figure out exactly how I want my wagoneer axles to be set up. Along with everything else on my heep is not factory. Trying to keep it a low buck heep. Not very easy though.

Anyone with a FSM that would be willing to post or pm me the info?

I'd have to say you DO have a need for one if you tore into the axles and now find that you can't set them up.

The FSM has the specs in it. Therefore I see a need for one. This forum is here for support but we are not here to just give out information you can easily obtain yourself from good sources such as the FSM which any of us will recomend buying.

Asking one of us to put up our FSM which we purchased is a bit rude IMO. We paid for it so we could use it. You could show us the same courtesy.

If you didn't need one you wouldn't be asking this question.
