11" drum brake back plate

Having some problems finding a back plate for my drum brake on a '74 CJ5. Drums are easy to find, but have not seen the back plate that the plate that the springs, pads, cylinder, etc. attaches to. Have tried WALCKS, 4WD.com, and other sources. Anyone have an Idea where I can find one? I understand the 11" Drum brake was only used for a short period and may be hard to come by. Anyone have one they replaced with disk brakes? Thanks.

 

I don't think there is a source for a new one. You should be able to find a used one fairly easily though. Where are you located? It would help if you put your location in your header.

Try R&P in Oregon, Scotty's in Fontana CA (near San Berdo), or JW Jeep parts in Antelope CA (near Sacramento).

 

junkyards are the best source for plates. early wagoneers or 70s cjs have 11" drums with the correct bp.

there is a thread in seller feedback that says herm is going to start selling 11" kits though so you could check with him.

Thank you for the offer but I just ordered the back plate from Collin's Brothers and probably paid too much. If you would send me a price with shipping to Alexandria, VA, I might buy them anyway for spare parts. I have the DANA 30 front axle.
