Well hello all. I was out hunting today with the #1 son. Got into some(for me) awesome trails. So the damage report is (for today) 2 tailpipe hangers ripped away from the pipes. Both were on the drivers side and consist of rubber bolted to the body and a metal lip muffler clamped to the pipes. These were put on by the muffler guys many moons ago.
So does any one have a good idea so that the pipes can move a bit from the body(due to frame flex and body flex) or maybe I should just biuld some hangers from thr frame to the pipes? Probably would make more sense. So how about sharing some idea's guys? Also we send our prayers to all the people affected by Katrina. Jim out.

Double HD hangers, double HD clamps, weld the stubs into the muffler. The HD clamps will have a larger u-bolt cross-section, say 5/16" instead of 1/4". Rotate the clamps 90 degrees to each other.

Good day eh. Well first day of hunting season up here, its raining lots so i figured time to check out the broken tailpipe hangers. Turned out it was that devil corrosion thats to blame not the design of the hangers. Jim (thats me) open your eyes before your mouth. So I waited until 0800 hrs this morning and wipped down to the local Lordco Autoparts and for 15.00 got enough parts to redo both sides. Well it worked good that way for 12 years should be good for another. Jim out.
