Okay, my f 134 would run for a few minutes, bog down and die.. everyones suggestions have helped alot. I took the fuel pump of my flat fender and put it on the cj5. Low and behold....it runs....little rough still, but it's not stalling. Here is where my next issue comes up...the vacuum line that went to the fuel pump is now disconnected and sucking air. If I cover it...the engine starts running terrible..I also took the cap off the large vacuum port below the carb and the motor smoothed out and increased it's idle by quite a bit. Can I leave the small one open? And what does this mean is happening with the motor??

Well your bypassing the problem, which I think your carb is to rich. I Would screw the idle mixture screw out and spray carb cleaner in the hole .I would try to clean the carb every way posible . Do you have the air filter on it right now ?

No air cleaner hooked up, and the carb is a second one that I rebuilt thinking that maybe the original had something I missed on the 15 time I had it apart. I'll run out and hook up the air cleaner.

try checking around the carb's mating surfaces to see if it is sucking in air.

Okay, I found the oil again smelled like gas, so I think that was what was making it run rich. I put new oil in and I was able to get it running pretty good with the vacuum capped and the air filter on....It still is a little rough and is idling too fast, I'm going to gap the valves next....Thanks for everyone's help.
