I am new to your web site and would like to know how to efficiently retrieve information from the site
I am interested in installing a Chevy 4.3 engine into my 1964 CJ5 I am in need of some technical assistance I read the article by Jason on installing a Chevy 4.3 TBI with the SM 420 transmission. I called NOVAK adapters they suggested I use the SM 465 transmission (I have one from my old 1774 GMC truck). Before I begin purchasing parts I would like to know if there are some books on this subject other than Th standard Chilton and haynes vehicle manuals. Additionally how would I go about getting a hold of Jason to ask some more detailed questions about the swap?
Thank you for your assistance Chris (cjjcall57)

i recommend the novak knowledge base and getting a factory manual, for the jeep and also from whatever year/make/model the 4.3 is from.

Howdy from W. MI. You've a good start by reading the tech section, the other trick is to use the search function here in the forums - there's rarely a question asked that hasn't been asked in some fashion before.

I have a 4.3 in my '64 CJ6 hooked to a T18A, but I didn't perform the swap. I have some pictures on my site and can grab more if need be.

Jason can be reached through the board here or privately through the memberlist - his screen name is Neptco19. Jason has gotten out of that project since posting that article though.

Take a look at "TBI and TPI Engine Swapping" by JTR publishing.

I still think he should go 225.

Personal opinion aside, he didn't ask for merits of the 225 vs 4.3. He asked for help with the 4.3 conversion...so let's keep it on-topic...;)

I'm going through this swap currently on my 65. The TBI book is good and recommends the Helm Manual as it is more precise.
