1963 -- F134.. does not look like the engine has ever been touched, don't know the number of miles.

Engine lacks power why? Would a valve job help? Timing is on the mark with new points. Carb -- solex adjusted.

Pressure on each cyl is good (hot or cold) 120's across the board. it does smoke a little. Oil pressure is around 40 at startup then drops to 15 after it's warm.

    any ideas?

You would not have good cylinder pressure if the valves were leaking. Blue smoke (oil) can come from the valve guides or the rings - put about a tablespoon of oil in each cylinder and remeasure the compression. If it goes up substantially, you have leaky rings (although I'd expect 120 to be good for an F134).

White or black smoke is water or fuel resp.

You sure that your expectations aren't too high? The power:weight ratio of a 134 CJ is pretty low, say 1:20. This is a lot lower than most drivers would expect from modern cars.

I run my timing at 7 degrees BTDC. Do you have full throttle movement?

Are you talking about oil pressure at idle when you say 15 psi? How about ignition, tuneup parts? That can make a world of difference on that little engine.

Make sure the exhaust system isn't smashed, kinked or bent somewhere too.

Replace the points with a Pertronix unit. Adjust timing and advance as much as you can. You're only going to get so much out of it no matter what you do!

For years I had a miss at idle that went away as the RPM went up (probably just less noticeable). I went through everything and it was still there. Finally, checked the dwell for the first time and it was 40*. I set it to 42* and the miss is gone.
