well i been fixing this old girl up and am getting along great but iv run on to something i cant seem to get.what is the line that runs out of the tcase right above where the twin shifters go in its about the size of a brake line and it dosnt go anywhere on the other end so i was gonna take it off and mark it as a vent then i thought it could be an oil line to help the shifters work better just a thought. i wish i could xplain better thanks, jared

the hole in the top of the case is a vent, and i'm betting it's supposed to run back up to the inlet of the carb. i haven't got around to putting all of my stuff back together, but that should be done if you want it to be waterproof again.

The tube and coupling (WO 801081) are part of the early underwater vent system, installed on M38A1's prior to S/N 53262. It should be routed to the air filter via the dash tee fitting.
