Been kind of poking around local autoparts stores looking for some kind of magnetic rearview mirror. I'm wanting something I can stick on the dash between the windshield frame and the flat part of the dash. Thought about putting in a normal mirror, but would have to mount it up high and don't want to drill anymore holes then I already have.

So, a mirror that sticks would be better. Anyone ever stumbled across such an animal?

    I think it's a bad idea......imagine getting rear-ended and having your mirror become a high-speed projectile.

If you want to avoid holes, why not just use the standard glue / mirror mount button approach with a junkyard mirror?

I would also check the laws about how mirrors can be mounted, I would bet that the required rearviews need to be solidly affixed to the vehicle $.02

Don't even need to go to the junkyard for a stick-on mirror... the mirror I have on my truck came from Autozone.

Some junkyard mirrors come with cool, easy-to-wire map lights... check S-10 trucks and Mustangs. Got mine from an S-10, glued the metal thing to the glass and installed the mirror. I put quick-disconnects on the wires to my mirror-map lights so I can fold my windshield for trail use.

With the mirror screwed to the top part of the windshield frame my mirror was a bit too high. I reused the old screw holes to put on a stiff piece of sheet metal that hangs down an inch or two. Then I screwed the mirror to that. Works well.

This method would allow you to put on a new mirror without drilling any new holes.
