OK, just installed a voltmeter, oil pressure, engine temp guages. I have a electric fuel pump, everytime the pump "cycles" the volt guage drops thne comes back to 13.5v very quickly. The unit has a good ground. Any sugesstions. Another completely unrelated question what color was the stock oil bath.

Probably normal for the volt meter to drop. Mine does when my compressor is running. Drops when electric fan comes on also. Mine runs at 14.5 volts and will drop to around 12 volts when under load. I'm using a 140 amp alternator. On my F head the oil bath was black. I'm not sure about the Dauntless. I've always had a K & N

mine flickers as long as the electric pump runs OR till the electric fan comes on. looks like "hovers" around 14v on mine (autometer gauge).

Yes, of course the volt meter will drop whn the electric fuel pump runs...... The battery voltage drops when it has a load on it....
