OK, just installed a voltmeter, oil pressure, engine temp guages. I have a electric fuel pump, everytime the pump "cycles" the volt guage drops thne comes back to 13.5v very quickly. The unit has a good ground. Any sugesstions. Another completely unrelated question what color was the stock oil bath.

Not sure what you mean by flickering. But depending on where you have the sensor hooked that might be normal. The voltage should drop and then recover when the pump kicks in. Just as it should when you turn on the lights. That just indicates the voltage draw and shows your alt is working.

The oil bath air filter? Black, I do believe. I agree that the "flickering" seems normal under the voltage drop of an applied load.

    How far is it dropping?
Seems like it comes back to normal, I wouldn't stress over it.
    Air filter is black.
