OK, Jeep Gal might have some 11" brakes off her '72 for sale, and I might be able to buy them. Will these fit on my stock '56 axles? I'm thinking yes, but I'd like to know for sure.

    Thanks!

What all do you need to convert a '56 to 11" brakes? Front and rear, or front only? The reason I ask is that I know where there is a '74 CJ5 in a junkyard near me. Problem is that he crushes stuff pretty regularly, so I gotta be quick about getting parts cause I never know how long the vehicle is going to be there. I recently scored the front clip and gas tank from a 66 Kaiser CJ5. The rest of the body was a rustbucket. When I left it ( about a month ago) it still had the tranny and an across the back tire carrier. That was about it. I don't expect it to be there now, because while I was working on it, The forklift came by and pulled the trucks on the left and right of it to send to the crusher.

Do a search for "drilled drums" here in the forum.

It involves drilling holes in the drums for increased performance.

    Sparky,

Thanks. Great site. I'll try to get to the j'yard tomorrow to see if the '74 is still there. Looks like a good future project.

Thanks for the photos Billy! Always much better to see what everyone's talking about. First time I heard about it I thought it was Bravo Sierra.

You guys really get that much improvement out of only 1/8" holes? I would have thought they'd need to be at least 3/16". Has anyone ever done this to 9" drums?
