Welp, got going on yet another Jeep project tonite. Figger I got about 1/2 way through it before calling it quits for the night. I'll have a chance to finish up tomorrow methinks. Anyhow, won't be too much different than what most of you may have already seen out there. Only thing I'm probably doing differently is that I'll be running a 1/2" grade 8 through a section of steam pipe (read...THICK WALL) to mount the shock. Also made a bending jig for my 20 ton press.

See what I've got so far here.

Hopefully do some updates tomorrow evening.

Very nice Thad! I really like the way you used the shop press to bend the plates. That's a great idea for future use!!!

I wish I'd had those when.....

Back in the days of high school, and with a 6 month old CJ5('75). Me and a buddy were out learning the jeep ropes. I let him drive so... he decided it would be cool to drive next to a RR track with two tires up on the ties. Well he drove over a removed tie and we were snagged on the spring mount plate on the front axle. We were stuck. All I had was a little bottle jack, it took us an hour to get off the tie. I drove home from there and as we drove under the RR bridge over the highway(10 minutes later) here comes a train- it would have totaled my Cj to say the least. That's the last time he drove a jeep until he bought one. I can laugh about it now but not then.R) R) R)
