I have removed rocker assembly and pushrods as well as the 8 bolts that attached the head to the block but I can't get the heads to budge. Is there any reason why they won't come off. Do I have to remove the valve springs some how. I'm not seeing a way to remove them though. I skipped the timing chain removal for now but I don't see why that would prevent me from removing the heads. Can someone give me some ideas. Thanks.

Try prying them up. I know I have had to do that in the past to break the seal.

They are off now, prying was all it needed. I'm always afraid I'm going to pry to much and mess something up. Thanks

If you've still got the battery and starter hooked up, put the plugs back in and give her a quick crank. Its best to place a few of the head bolts back in loosely so the head won't hop onto the floor when it turns over. I've has success with with little trick a few times.

If you're working on the 4 banger, there's a bolt under the carb.
