Tried this a while back and no one was able to produce any pictures... Still (ever so slowly) working on the power steering conversion on my '47 with the original L-head, and I'm fishing for ideas on how people have mounted power steering pumps? Fabrication won't be a problem, just looking for some ideas.

There are pictures of an F-head around showing how the power steering pump mounted on it. These would be the best place to start. If you can't find them on the tech pages yell and I will post copies as I kept them.

Hello, I mounted a PS pump on my Chevy II inline four using a Chevy six mounting bracket that mounted in the same location as the photos have shown. It mounts to the head and to the front of the block, you may have to run a dual belt crank pulley and as the Chevy engine did. One belt ran the water pump and alternater, and the second one just ran the PS pump. The bracket shown on the L-Head looks real good. You mite use some chevy pump brackets mouted to a bracket shown in this link made for a L-Head.

The aluminum mount and pump are indeed from an XJ. Something like an '85 with the 4-cyl, IIRC :?

I guess I can't comment on how well it works just yet, but it's solid and the holes under the head bolts are slotted for belt alignment. I've got the belt on there now and there is plenty of travel in the adjustment slot for proper tension and to relieve tension for belt swapping, so I'm hopeful that it'll work just fine.

Actually, you are about the 5th person that has jokingly asked me to build another one for them... Is there really an interest in these? I suppose I could whip a few more out if you guys are serious?

I'd would love to have one. Im still a ways away from converting to power steering but having a bracket would be great. I have no fab skills at all and would be willing to pay. If you do make some more count me in. You can PM me with a price if you want.
