Rear a thread somewhere in here about carpet. Right now, in my '53 M38a1, I just have a couple of thick rubber floormats. They work fairly well, but do get warm with the close proximity to my headers. The header pipes are literally about 1 inch from the floor pan. Think that should play into the carpet debate?

    Metal floor with mats +'s
    1-Easy clean
    2-Quick dry when wet
    3-cheap
4-header heat doesn't seem to bother them

    -'s
    1-Ugly
    2-no real insulation
3-gets caught on my homemade dropdown pedals

    Carpet +'s
    1-much prettier
    2-insulation (noise/temp)

    -'s
    1-more money
    2-harder to keep clean
    3-possible musty problems if wet

    Any other's?

    Carpet, yeah or neah?

    Merry Christmas Fellow Jeepers!!

Your best option (IMO) is to use either indoor/outdoor carpet or my favorite marine carpet. Rubber backing, mildew resistant, fade resistant, looks very clean and can handle the water hose, mud, and whatever else you can throw at it. I paid about 45 bucks at Home Depot for a 10x6 piece I think.
