I'm installing a new brake light pressure switch on a new M/C. Should I use teflon tape, teflon pipe dope or regular pipe dope as a thread sealant or nothing at all? Didn't see any sign of sealant on old switch. I know there's no need on flare fittings but wasn't sure about pipe thread connection. :?

That tefllon tape will break down when brake fluid hits it, so dont use it. Was there a little brass washer on the old one?? If so I would get another new one. If the original didnt have anything on it, I guess just screw it in and call it good. :)

I still want to know where to get the thread sealer that comes on those russel easy bleeders. I got a set of them and they had some red sealant of some sort already on the bleeders. I believe that it will withstand brake fluid if they purposely put the sealant on when they sell it.

When I replaced the stop light switch I didn't use anything and it doesn't leak.
