alternator blues

    hi,basically i need help.
    my old 35 a alt packed it in,so i aquired a new 78 a delco w/reg built in.when i hooked it up, i get no power. anybody know what i hook up the 1 and 2 connections to? #1 is hooked up to alt lite,but had to hook two main pwr wires off the old alt together to the batt con to get pwr.
    any help would be appreciated.

    hi again, hooked up #2 to just before ballist and works fine.
