any of you have a rather unique CB mounting location? I got a new one and i have a .50 cal ammo can and thought it could mount down in it between the seat. i don't want to cut into the dash. i thought about mounting it below the dash, but i have always gotten new ideas from here so i thought i would give this a try.

Under the dash is easiest. Mount it so it's easy to reach and drive at the same time.

Mine is under the dash. There were already holes that lined up w/ the
    mounting brackets.

In my first jeep '75 Cj I welded a 50 cal can to the drivers' side set bracket and padded the top. used it for all kinds of storage back then. Stereo 8 track:oops: , CB, pad locked the front.

In Dutch I used a smaller Radio Shack CB and there was enough of the drivers side seat frame extending inboard past the seat that I could mount it there.

Not sure what I'm going to do in SSDutch. I'd like to get one of the all in the mic CB's.

That's what I have, a Cobra unit. Mounted the box up high on the inside firewall.

Seems like with the all in one unit I had years ago I was always accidently changing the channel when I picked up the mic. Probably just a bad design of button locations (or bad operator).

I mounted mine under the spreader bars for my roll cage so it's overhead.

never thought about mounting to the seat frame or steering column...do you guys have any pics....mine is also a small Radio shack special so it can fit in smaller spots. I just want to be able to hear it, where before i couldn;t hear people talk.

Not the greatest pics, but you can spot the CB in these:

FWIW I had trouble hearing it when at road speeds. An external speaker mounted on the 'cage is one idea, or I always had thoughts of building a headset/microphone to use with it.
