im thinking about selling the 67 CJ5... we are moving, but i have room for it at the other place. but I've had some one say that they might be interested. the thing is that i would like to sell it for what i have into it, which is $6900 does anyone think that it is possible to sell a jeep that you can't drive yet, but that is almost completely new, except for the frame, axles, differencials, engine, trans and transfer, grill, and hood... so pretty much everything attached to the body. there is not a spot of rust on it. it has a new fiberglass body, brakes, windshield frame but no windshield, mirrors, seats, a couple guages, rebuilt carb. new radiator, 4" suspension, 3" body, 35" baja claws, on black rock crawler rims, new lights, and it also has a huge winch, but it is locked up for some reason... there is actually to much to list... all that it needs to be drivable is to replace the tie rod ends, fill the steering box, fill the transfer, get a windshield, and fix the clutch issue... does this sound like a possibility, please let me know what you think located in Gainesville, Ga. email me for pictures

Sorry to be a bummer, but that's a tall order. For instance, I sold a clean wheelable 98 Wrangler with about 5k in extras for 7,000.00 last year.

What you have is a niche vehicle, a pretty awesome one it sounds like - but that's a lot of money for a jeep that doesnt drive. Hang on to it!

ahhhhhh, thats not what i wanted to hear... i have room to store it at the new place... lots of room, the reason why i was asking is because a friend of mine works for a guy who loves these things, and has lots of money, and blows his cash all the time... so i was thinking maybe just maybe...

one of the bes lines ive ever heard - when my buddys gf was bitching to him about spending all his time working on the jeep, he said "my jeep has lasted through 2 relationships. don't make it a third."

Sell it if you want, that's your business if that's what you want to do. But, IMO, if you don't HAVE to sell it or don't NEED to sell it, then don't sell it for a loss. If the guy will pay your price, cool. If not, take it with you. If you do sell it, you'll probably regret it later. Especially if you sell it to make the GF happy.

If you can get the price you want, I would sell it.

Usually unfinished projects sell at a huge discount. If you can sell it for what you've got in it, you will be very, very fortunate.

Except for a very few and very expensive collectible cars, you'll always take a loss when you sell. Owning a car is, with very rare exception, always a liability.
