I finally got the CJ on the trail this last weekend. I was absolutely amazed at how much better it wheeled with the 3.15 gears in the t-case. I actually spent a lot of time in 2nd and 3rd gear while in low range.

As a brief reminder. Before the gear swap I was running 58:1 crawl. After the Tera-Lows were installed this became 91:1. That is more then a 50% reduction in gearing with no change to highway manners.

The first obstacle on Saturday I literally let the Jeep idle over. It bogged down just a bit but it did not die. The slow speed meant I did not have to use the clutch near as much to maintain control. Overall I am VERY happy with them. I did put them through their paces this weekend and managed to do several things I would not have been able to do in the past.

Saturday morning I helped recover a 5 that developed some serious engine problems. I had him on a strap behind mine. In 1st low I was able to crawl that obstacle mentioned above while pulling the dead weight of the other CJ behind me. I did not even feel the other Jeep pulling on the strap when I dragged it across.

I spent the rest of Saturday trying progressively harder obstacles to see how it would do. Made it the whole day with minor rock rash as the only carnage.

I'd have to aggree with hudson, well worth the money! Have three runs on them and its night and day. Now trails like rubicon are much more relaxed and enjoyable. I recently pulled the lower cover off to do an inspection of the gear teeth. No metal in the pan and the teeth look great! I think all I need to do is reinstall that mount on the side of the t-case to limit torque movement.
