Located and mounted the connector for the for the intervehicle cable of my 1/4 ton M101 CDN trailer on the '74 CJ-5. I have also indentified the wire of the Jeep harness to which I need to connect. What is the most secure and professional way to splice the wires from the connector into the wiring harness? Trying to keep this project as "Bubba" free as possible.

Cut the wire you are splicing into.
Strip the insulation from all 3 ends.
slide some heat shrink tubbing over the wire and out of hte way.
solder the 3 wires back together.
slide the heat shrink tubbing into place
heat it up until it conforms to the wires.
    call it done.
