T14 is syncro first right? Is T86 too?

    T-14 is synchro first. T-86 is non-synchro first like a T-90. Nickmil

I as currently switching out the t86 in favor of a t14 right now. I checked last night and the t14 bolts right up to the t86 adaptor on the bell housing. Is there any difference between the t14 and t86 adaptor? Perhaps the t14 adaptor is shorter. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance for any info.

Why are you getting rid of the t86?

    T-14 uses a 10 spline output. T-86 uses a 6 spline.

I am switching out mine because first gear was shot and I purchased a like new t14 for 75 bucks. I like the syncro 1st gear also.

Plus it has a lower 1st gear than the t86.

It's got to be a T-14 from a V6, not a straight 6, otherwise the input shaft is wrong (but you probably knew that).

I think the adapter is the same. Driveshaft length may be different.

When I swapped my T86 for the T14, the front drive shaft was about 1/4 inch to short. I had to pull it foward with the U-bolts from the universal joints, so I am sure one day I am going to get stuck when it breaks
