MAster Cylinder Leak

    I have the stock master cylinder on my 74 CJ5 and under hard braking it wants to leak out of the top under the cap. Is the gasket broke? It doesn't look very bad and it doesn't leak if it is just braking normal. Any suggestions?

    If it’s leaking you have a sealing problem but it doesn’t have to be the seal itself. I would inspect the seal well, and if that’s good inspect the top cover sometime corrosion will develop inside where it mates with the rubber seal. If the inside of the top cover has corrosion that will need to be cleaned out to make a good seal.
