Count the teeth on the ring and pinion and divide them, thats your ratio, if they're too stripped to count thats pretty ugly

when you look forward underneath the jeep, the dana model is cast in to the lower right flange.

No You need a R&P from a CJ or YJ with a Dana 30. TJ Dana 30s are different then the older models.

From the pic. tech section here on the site.. This will show you where to look for the axle make. On the ring gear the tooth count should be stamped into the side of it. If not its real easy just to count the teeth and divide it by the count on the pinion.

IIRC the later YJs don't work. But your best bet to not end up with a set that you can't use is to just use a CJ R&P set so 85 and older. I made the mistake of getting a set for a TJ and now I have a nice set of 3.73 gears that I can't use.

If it's a stock front axle then it's a Dana 30. YJ ring and pinion won't works since YJ's use a high pinion axle. You might as well open it up and count the gear teeth. You gotta take it apart to fix it anyway.
