My friend just bought a 79 cj7. It's mostly show and not much go. The guy he bought it from put 1.5" wheel spacers on the rear to even out the spacing on from the front to rear axles, they are stock as far as I can tell. I always thought that this put extra stress on the wheel bearings and was not a good idea. The narrower rear axle helps with cornering but is that neccesary on a CJ? He feels that it looks good and that the extra stability is better. Anyone using these or have any experience with them?

I run 2.5" spacers on my NT 44 rear to match it up to the WT 30 front. Dont have any problems.

I put 3" spacers on the back of an F250 to convert it to a dually. The owners regularly put 7000 pounds in it and have had zero issues.

Thanks for your input. I guess I leave them there with a bit more confidence now.

I would just check the torque. Should be about 90 foot pounds. You could also Re-Torque with Red Loc-Tite.
