    Hi all

I have a brand new carb (carter yf 1 bbl) and the choke seem to stick. Fuel economy is quite affected, some time after a ride on the highway, the idle speed (when I depress the clutch) stays at 1400 1600 rpm. if I give some gas, sometime it will re-drop at 700 (idle)

I did put a manual throttle (a bicycle cable that is attached to the same point as the original throttle) Is there a chance this cable interfere with the choke control ???

I'l try to remove it, but if someone has good reason to suspect this, I'd like to know

It all depends on how you have the cable attached. I could see it causing problems in some positions, and in others it should not interfere. Got any pics?

    Sorry, no pics.

I called the guy who change the carb, I will go tonight to his place so he'll check this. At the price I paid for the fuel tank, fuel line, fuel pump and carb, I think it is guaranteed....

On my carb, the choke doesn't reset until the a little gas is given to let pressure off the aduster screw. Mine was sortof doing the same thing until I figured it out, But you seem to have a diferent problem if you just got done on the highway... Perhaps it might be related, make sure nothing is catching in the assemblies.
