Does anyone have any information on quantities of CJ-5 jeeps outfitted with steel meyers cabs with glass roll up windows for 1974 and previous? I have a 1974 CJ5 with Meyers cab and Ramsey PTO Winch (8000) T-18 (up reverse) and open axles.

Thats gonna be a tough number to come up with. My understanding is that the metal cabs were aftermarket/dealer installed, so numbers are not gonna be very available.

prehaps a informal poll would work. I have 2 of them, the good top and the parts one.

Got one here. Not sure what to do with it at this point. I plan to go to a soft top, but the hardtop is all the jeep ever had on it until I bought it.

    :iagree:

Probably impossible at this point - I don't see why the anyone would have aggregated that data from the dealers.

Your best bet would be old sales data from Meyers as to total units sold, but even that data at this point is going to be hard to come by.

The guy who sold me my Meyers got it directly from a dealer. He said they came 2 in flavors, with the back corner windows and w/o, happily mine *has* them, and it's pretty cool.

I do know (since I put it on last night) that it doesn't weigh near as much as 350# that somebody send, more like 150-200. It has some rust around the edges and needs a paint job, then I will invent a headliner for it and it's golden.

are you including the weight of the doors and associated hardware in your weight estimate?

I've got 1 and a half. Cutting one up into a half cab, that's the half. Need a set of good doors and some fab work around the cage, behind the seats. It never ends.
