I can't make any sense out of that question but the more disks you have the better

4 Wheel disc is the best, 2nd up would be disc front drum rear.

Disk brakes are easier to mess with. I have always been told that drums have an overall greater stopping power.

Let me restate my question....Are drums on four wheels just as safe as disc on the front and drum on the back.Since I will be switching to all drums, will I see any difference in stopping. Also can I use a proportioning valve with drums for a 72 cj5 dana 44 rear and a dana 30 front. 3:73 gears

I would say not as safe.
Discs are better at cooling hence they dont fade as much, when discs get wet they still stop drums unless they are drilled you need to drag them a little to dry them out.
Once you get used to all 4 drums they ar not bad, you just need to learn the curve so to speak.
Why do want to switch to all drums?

The frame I bought came with dana 44 rear and a dana 30 front. 3:73 gears. The axles I have are a model 30 up front and model 20 rear.I do not know the gear ratio. I would like to have disc on the front and drums on the back, but since I am not good with gear ratio,I think I am stuck with all drums.Unless their is a easy way to determin gear ratio

Not hard to swap the discs over.
Look for a tag on the diff cover, or pop the cover and count the teeth on both gears.
Some one here can tell you what the ratio is from the tooth count. ;)

Don't even need to open the diff. Mark a hub and rotate it one full turn while you count the turns of the yoke. Turns of yoke:1 turn of hub is the ratio. Look up the ratios available for your diffs to get it exact, ie if its 4 1/4 turns then its 4.27:1, 4 and a little more than 3/4 turns then its 4.88:1, 3 3/4 turns is 3.73:1 and 5 and a little more than a 1/4 its 5.38:1. If there's other ratios someone will chime in but those are all I know for Jeeps.

I would swap over the discs if you want to swap out the axles really easy and since the frame already was plumbed for it even easier. I had drums all around on my 72 they would stop you but you needed to be ready for the initial pull to one side or the other. You could adjust till you were blue in the face and it would stop straight a couple of times then start going one way or the other again. The discs now stop straight as an arrow and much more stopping power.:)

If you were a percussionist, then I would say drums. ;)

However, since we are talking Jeeps, swap the discs onto the front, knuckes and all. On any axle that old, you would probably need to replace the ball joints anyway...
