thought i'd post some pictures of the portable welding table i made out of an old janitors cart.

picked up the cart at surplus for $10. added one upright out of 1" angle, stitch welded two more 1" angle along the top side edges so i could lay in a sheet of 1/4" plate steel for a partial top.

then cut 5 more 1" angle lengths to lay in the other half for cutting.

i kept the tops removable so i could rearrange the cutting portion or change the sizes of the welding vs. cutting areas.

i may fill the top tray with vermiculite or sand so i can use it to catch sparks from cutting. i will also mount the fire extinguisher more solidly to the leg than it is now. maybe replace the wheels with larger wheels ( kinda burned one when i was welding the extra leg/upright  )

lastly, i plan to seal the bottom of the steel tubes attached to the legs to hold welding rods of different types.
anyway it was cheaper and faster than building one from scratch and jsut the right height for me. my back was killing me from bending over the two saw horses i was using before...

Cool, very cool! I love having things on wheels. Welding table on wheels is a great idea.
