    Greetings to the group,
I've slowly been restoring a 59 Willys CJ5. This is my first jeep project. My intention is restore it to near original with the use of used as well a reproduction parts. I have most of the mechanicals completed and now I'm attempting get the interior restored. My problem is I can't find good reference pictures for some of the small details.

Does anyone have any good pictures or know where I might find original or near original Late 50' or early 60's cj5:

    1. dashboard configuration and instrumentation
    2. Fuel Tank mounting strap position
    3. emergency brake handle positioning
    4. engine compartment firewall pictures
    5. Driver and passenger seat frame mounting

I appreciate any help or words of wisdom,

    Pete

This thread shows the correct seats/frames. Read the whole thing so you'll see which is right. The gas tank strap is a single one that goes across the middle of the tank front to back, bolting to the front floor and the rear floor. Also why don't you go to the introductions section and tell us about your Jeep and where you're located. Might be someone near you.

    Hi Glenn,
Thanks for your reply. In your message you mentioned a thread regarding the seats I should read in its entirety but I was uncertain of which thread you were speaking about? How can I find it?

Yes, I"ll find the introductions and provide a little backround.

    Regards,

    Pete

http://www.earlycj5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29420&highlight=e-brake+handle+picture This shows where the e-brake handle mounts, yours should be a t-handle I believe. Also this dash picture is a good reference. Forget about the switches and gauges on the left. You should have the speedo cluster, with the ignition switch lower right, headlight switch upper right, choke upper left and handle throttle lower left. These surround the speedo as shown in the center. There might be a handle above the glove box door. That is what is on the original dash back then.

Not sure where the pic came from or whomever the JEEP belongs to but here is a clean dash. The two holes off set from center to the right are for the grab bar. Optional as I understand it. You may see small indentations there if it didn't have the bar originally.

Firewall diagrams are available in the tech section here-

These may/may not be correct, I'm told the guy who did'em is a bit of an idiot-

The picture shows the choke below the throttle, I thought it was supposed to be above. How about you guys, where are your chokes?
