What shackles to buy?!?!

    Please help me shop for shackles.... I will be installing a 2.5" lift, and plan to run a 33x12.5 tire, and about 1" of body lift on a 73 cj5. What is your input on a cost effective med duty shackle. What are your veiws on greaseable vs. not. All of the above on a stock or half inch over stock?

    I run the M.O.R.E. shackles that are about 3/4" longer than stock with a 3" lift. My 33 x 10.50 M/TR's fit nice and only rub when way articulated. Some would say the 3/8" steel is overkill but I like 'em. Get the greasable bolts.

    I've been thinking about putting some taller shackles on my 73 CJ5. Some places seem to make this out as a quick lift, is this correct? I can only assume I would need longer shocks, etc. Is this correct?

    Longer shackles adversely affect handling and only give you 1/2 the lift of the total length of the shackle.

    1" over stock (0.5" lift) isn't much to worry about. You don't need longer shocks.
