Does anyone have any feedback on the fiberglass body replacement from JC W>>>>>>? It is listed for only $1049 for my '79. I was going to purchase the patch panels for the floor which will add up to roughly $200 for the complete floor until I could afford (and have time) to swap the whole tub. This sounds like a price that's almost too good to be true and I'm a little suspicious......Also, it doesn't appear to be a major undertaking to replace the whole tub. Since I have a few broken body mounts (hat channels rotted out), it's going to take quite a bit of work to make the patch panels work. This seems like a 'gimme' as long as this replacement tub is decent. Thanks!

Boyink, thanks for the heads up. Maybe I will go with the patches for now and buy steel when I'm ready. Even though this isn't going to be a show Jeep, I don't want a piece of junk for $1000 and have to wait 3 months for a good one....

JMHO. Don't buy anything from JCW. They have caused me nothing but heartache.

I bought a Jeep tub from JCW several years ago, and can confirm some of the comments posted above. Its quality was sub-standard, although it was generally serviceable. After quite a lot of fiberglass body repair work, I had a nice looking tub. The problem is, after all the money and expense and effort of purchasing a new tub, I expected something that did not require body work!

It lasted about 5 years before showing stress cracks through the paint. If I had it to do over again, I would go with a metal tub, or just learn how to weld in replacement panels (not there yet). R)
