I've tried searching for info on a TBI swap for the 232 and haven't had much luck. I would like to upgrade to FI of some kind but don't want to burn a hole in my pocket. What donor vehicle will work for my application? And what options do I have if I go new? :?

There's a neat article here http://www.bustedjeep.com/projects/junkyardtbi.asp on installing TBI from a 4.3L Chevy V6. The 232 isn't exactly the same (3.8L) but it should run ok using the Chevy PROM. Once you get it running, you could tweak it by burning a new prom that's tailored to your engine.

You could also go with the MegaSquirt system, which is DIY electronics for GM throttle body and sensors. One of our members (fellow from Texas - seems like a nice guy - can't remember his handle though) built and uses the Megasquirt board, and could give advice if you want to go that route.

You need a 2 barrel rochester intake from a 258. You can buy two adapter plates that will convert it to the GM TBI pattern. Then read up on the Megasquirt system. Inexpensive and you will learn a whole lot about how FI works.

Or as stated above you can use a GM TBI computer and it should be good enough. Although it may run a bit rich until the computer has some road time to learn.
