I didn't want to hijack lafester's thread so I started a new one.

When using pucks to attain lift, how do you keep the side of the through bolt from contacting the side of the hole through the metal? It seems that if it touches the body metal on top and the frame metal on the bottom, it's going to transmit the noise and vibration up into the passenger area. All the isolators I have seen in industry have a shoulder on one side of the puck to prevent this from happening. Or am I being too fussy? I have thought of freezing the pucks and turning a shoulder on the lathe to achieve complete isolation of the bolt and metal. Or maybe slipping a rubber hose the length of the bolt and one thickness of metal over the bolt. I might just be paranoid about this because when I bought Shaggy, there were no isolators at all. The tub sat directly on the frame. Now THAT was noisy. How about some opinions on this?

Most of the ones I have used hockey pucks on were strictly offroad so this has never been a problem, and we have never noticed any movement no matter how much the vehicle is beaten on, even the one with three pucks stacked for 3" lift. However, this is a question I have wondered about myself, anybody got any ideas?
