I understand XJ Cherokee rear shackles fit the front of Commandos (or at least the pre-72 Commando). How about the rears?

Do CJ or Wrangler shackles fit the rear of the Commando?

Yes, you can use Xj or for more lift 90's Chevy fullsize lowering shackles . As far as i know any early Cj shackle works in the back, i got mine from the omix book.

Just to clarify, the Cherokee (XJ) shackes only fit the Jeepster Commando's with the wider 2" front springs. These are usualy the Jeepsters that came with factory Saginaw steering, not Ross. The front shackles for the more narrow front spring can be bought through Crown.

Sorry i did not notice yours was a 67. Not sure what they use out back as their springs are narrower as pointed out. 72-73 use wranglers out back and XJ's on the front
