Has anyone tried "Herm The Overdrive Guy's" Ford power steering conversion on a Commando?

I like the fact that the box is behind the cross-member rather than way out front as in the Saginaw set-up. Herm's set-up would seem to be stronger and better protected.

I attempted it. actually, I purchased a power steering box from a wrecking yard and tried to see if it would fit. My application did not work. I had done a waggy axle swap with spring over. The problem was that the pitman arm was too short to get the drag link to line up. It was too far to the rear. It might work for a standard setup or if you could get a longer pitman arm. You might ask Herm how long the pitman arm he has.

I like the looks of that! Looks to be a better setup than the Saginaw.
According to Herm's site, the stock pitman arm can not be used for the conversion. He doesn't mention length, just that the stock taper is wrong and would be unsafe to try to use.
