check out this deal on steel

    Okay so the selection is limited. No square, no round, angles and sheets only it seems.

    I asked him for 2 sticks of 2" x 1/4" angle, one 4 x8 sheet of 1/8" and one 4 x 8 x 1/4" plate


    $81.00

    Does that seem right?

    About 6 months ago, I paid $60+ for a 4 x 8 sheet of 18 gauge in Denver.

    those prices are pretty durn good. i dont want to pick up that 1/4 inch plate ;)

    24' of 1"x2" 14 guage tubing for 32 bucks and a sheet of 16 guage 4x8 for 53 here in Wasington , D.C.

    Does about 600lbs sound right? I am trying to figure the moving of this stuff myself.

    I'll be keeping an eye on this as I just e-mailed a price request for the below items to BMG Metals here in Chesapeake...
    1- 4x8 sheet of 3/4" #9 plain flat expanded steel
    20 feet of 1"x1"x1/8" angle
    20 feet of 1/4" diameter solid round stock (cold rolled)
    20 feet of 3/16" diameter solid round stock (cold rolled)
    20 feet of 1/8" diameter solid round stock (cold rolled)
    10 feet of 3.5" (I.D.) schedule 40 pipe
    6- 24"x24" pieces of 1/4" flat steel

    Chris that is a much more specialized order.

    I am probably getting something that didn't make it through QC a they can't put whatever rating on it.

    Grinsha, your right. I had asked him and he said ~600 must have been for all of it. That is still probably on the heavy side.

    Your right. It's for items I need to finish up a smoker I'm building. You seem to have got a good price, I'm VERY sure mine won't be as reasonable:rofl:

    Just paid $140 for a 4x8 sheet of 1/8" The price of steel has doubled in the last year around here.
