Looking at picking up a hard top for the winter, but have a quick question I'm fairly sure about.

Guy says the fiberglass top and doors are are off a '75 CJ5, and I've got a '73 CJ5. Now I'm fairly sure it will fit, AFAIK there weren't any tub changes for 71-75, but I just wanted to confirm with the all knowing CJ society before I drive 8 hoursR)

Yes, if it's really what they say it is, it will fit. Any top from 55-75 will fit. The big change was in 1976.

-Tim, thanks I figured as much. I'll ask him for measurements to confirm it'll fit, just to be on the safe side.

I just wish it was an ACME top:)

The difference will be at the windshield, since the tub dimensions didn't change in '76. The 76-on windshield narrows from bottom to top (trapezoid-shaped instead of a rectangle) and tilts back more.

Ah I gotcha. Thanks for the info on it. Just found out its a metal top and not a fiberglass one, is there anything else I should look for/be aware of?

Be prepared for it to be heavy and awkward! I couldn't believe how heavy my halfcab was, and you're talking about a full cab, right?

Yep full cab. You'd think in North West Arkansas it would be easy to find hard tops(metal or fiberglass) for jeeps but its turned out to be a major PITA, I even tried over summer with no luck!

Heck, in NW Arkansas, the tops were probably all used for chicken coops or hog shelters!

Haha yea you're probably right! Which would probably explain the CJ5 shortages here.
