    Hi

I just realized that my willys has novak mounts welded on the frame.
And I found the rubber grommets for them in a box of stuff that came with my willys.

I am just missing the brackets that mount on the block.

Anybody have measurements on those, how long and what angle?
I can fab that part save some bucks:) :)

They told me it had a SBC in it before so my chevy v6 might just mount right up.

If it had a V-8 in it you might have to move those motor mounts back farther. The block mount isn't in the same spot, for both motors.

I read that its about 4 inchs.
thing is this might work OK because I would have more distributor room and a long rear drive shaft. Being a V6 it should still have enough room for radiator .

    I think anyway.

I have the Novak mounts on my 4.3. I am out of town right now but I will post some pictures this weekend. This pic shows the mounts on the engine.

    Thats a great pic.

I took a tape and looked it over .
I was thinking the mounts on the block were back more but there forward more.
    which makes sence.
V6 always sits back more in say a chevy pickup.

So technicaly it is the normal spot just less 1 cylinder in front.
So if anybody is still with me it will sit on the CSB mounts just right giving me the space in front for a real fan ect.

I can fab the mounts forwards or back at a slight angle when I make the part I am missing. just woundering on the angle out from the block .

I have the 4.3 with all the accessories mounted on it and the SM465/S18 hooked up. The 3b grill is bolted in but the body is not on, should be able to get a good pic of where my mounts are on the frame. I will post some pics Sat nite or Sun morn when I get back.

Shouldnt be that difficult to figure out the angle. Put a degree finder on the block where the mounts will bolt up once the engine is level side to side. Then weld the peices together at whatever angle you come up with. Add a couple gussets on the side and you should be good to go.

Here are the pics of the motor mounts. Notice the engine is off set to driver's side. Also you can see the clearance for the radiator and fan.

    Thanks so much.
Are the to 2 holes in front of the mount the old shock mount holes?
My mount over laps those by half favoring the rear.

I have 16 inchs from the bolt center to the tube cross member under the grill as they are now.

By eye and a tape measure, looks like the water pump pully would be 12 inchs from the motor mount bolt center, forward ,so that would leave me 4 inchs.
I wanted it forward but thats probably not enough room for rad. and fan...

It may just be the picture but the fan looks like it is low on the rad. Is this normal ? Will it cool properly in that location?

Electric fan will be used and yes the 283 that was in there sat that low in the frame. Freaked me out the first time I looked at it but if I had a 2a grill you would think it would be correct.
