If there is anyone that has access to a lathe and milling machine I have an idea I'd like to have done if it's not too costly. And if it's possible...

Regarding my 4 gear shift levers, come spring I'd like to extend and bend all 4 levers so that when all 4 are in 2wd 1st gear out of od hi range they all line up left to right and are the same length. For shift knobs for all 4 I'd like to take a solid piece of 1" or 1 1/2" aluminum rod or square bar stock and have drilled and tapped for set screws so that the whole solid piece fits over and secures to the ends of all the shift levers then cut the bar in between each lever so that when the jeep is parked all the shifters lne up to look like a solid bar. I saw this in a movie years ago (some sci-fi flik)
    And just remembered it.
I think it would look cool since I'm thinking about going with a shiny but not chrome industrial look to the jeep as I fix stuff and resto mod it.
Thanks in advance and opinions are always welcome:)

(If this should be in GD please move but I figured "fabricator's"....)

I could do it but it might be difficult to line them all up since its not in front of me to do. I'd be relying on you to be almost perfect in getting it all aligned and lengthened. Just let me know when you get ready and I'll give ya a call.

Like I said not till spring and I'm planning on using a piece of pipe to mock up, like black iron to get everything lined up then make marks whear to cut, drill and tap with as much info as possible then send the pipe for a hard reference. That way if anything is amiss it's on me:)

is it just me, but i see a problem with shifting...
ok so you want all the shifters to line up, and have the knobs all pipe so they make a bar wen it the right position. got that.
but what about the trans shifting first to second is gonna hit the od then 2nd to third will be....
id know maby i just didn't picture your idea right?
i just dont see it working with the long throw of the trans.
