    Hey Guys,

Just wanted to ask if anyone had any original, or original looking front seatbelts. I wanted to see your set up - what the anchors on the floor look like, and how they connect to the belt itself. Patchy didnt come with seatbelts, and want to know where to start when it comes to buying some seatbelts. Thanks Much.

Just a question- Do you have a roll bar or roll cage installed? From your avatar it doesn't look like you do-

If not I think you should read
& seriously think about whether or not you actually want belts.

The theory is that you get thrown from a rolling Jeep in order to keep from getting rolled over.

True, that makes sense. I just didnt want to get thrown out in the event of a minor fender bender. But I guess we cant choose what kind of accidents we get involved in right?

My Jeep went into the shop today, if I see that you don't get any good info I will post some pics when I get it back.

In my mind if you are worried about a minor fender bender then a roll bar is not a big deal to add. While you will get many more stares without the rollbar the safety addition is well worth it in my book.

Sorry 'bout that- somehow the link I put in my post didn't make it

Here's the link that should have appeared after "read"-

    http://www.earlycj5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28425&page=2

Start reading around post # 19 or so where the thread gets hijacked to seatbelts.

You probably won't find any seatbelt hookups or seatbelts factory installed before '66 or so. They weren't required by the feds, same as the rollbars.

Remember to get some 1/4 inch plate about 4" square to back the mounting up with. Spreads the pressure over a greater area of sheet metal.:coffee:
