I've searched the threads but didn't find a specific answer...
My alignment guy told me I need a dropped pitman arm to straighten my steering angles. (Conversation shorted due to space.) Then I can start chasing everything else if I still have problems.
Does the pitman arm from an XJ (already has the drop I need) fit on a stock '73 w/power steering?
'73 CJ5, 4" lift. Draglink looks like the picture of Jims rig in the Tech Library (Heim Joints to Remove Bump Steer and Backlash), but didn't want to go the Heim joint route.

I do believe that is a correct statement. But I have no first hand knowledge. I run a YJ 4" drop pitman arm on green jeep with the wrangler springs. It drops too far I think. I think I would look for a CJ power steering drop arm?

The reason I'm looking at a stock XJ pitman arm is that they are about 1/2 price compared to a 'aftermarket' drop arm, and they have the amount of drop I need.
I just wanted to make sure it hooked up to the steering box, ect. correctly.:coffee: :coffee:

I know they will physically interchange but you will need to check the "clocking". I can't remember if the master splines are clocked the same or not, but I'm thinking they are pretty close. Anyone remember for sure? Nickmil

    Thanks All!
There is a 4X4 swap meet coming up first of March, up in Puyallup that I'm goin' to, so will look for one there first (plus what ever else I can't live without!). :coffee: :coffee:
